KARACHI: It may be recalled that eight years ago on this day, the terrorists struck the convoy that was welcoming the former prime minister and the chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party Benazir Bhutto.
The cowardly attack claimed around two hundred lives of the party workers and wounded and maimed other hundreds of people. The attack took place at Karsaz at a time when Bhutto had arrived Pakistan after ending her self-exile.
Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto in a message on this occasion said PPP had always given sacrifices for the country and never bow down in front of evil forces. The democracy in the country existed because of the sacrifices of the party.
Special prayers and events have been being held every year since then to commemorate the tragic incident.
