Eight children among 10 of a family injured due to gas leakage blast

PESHAWAR: At least 10 people including eight children were injured in a gas leakage explosion in suburban village of provincial capital Ram Kishan situated in the jurisdiction of Khazana Police Station here on Sunday.

Talking to APP, an official of the Khazana Police Station, the gas leakage exploded inside a house located in Ram Kishan area of one Muhammad Islam with a big bang that engulfed 10 people including eight children and two women who received critical burns wounds.

Police has said that the explosion occurred in the residence of a person identified as Muhammad Islam s/o Khachkol. All the injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) where condition of the five injured including children described as critical.

The injured children were identified as Waheeda, Safia, Khater, Haider, Nasim, Shabir and Rubina while two women as Zartaja wife of Hayat Khan and Shazma d/o Shahjehan.

Soon after the blast the officials of the Rescue 1122 and local people rushed to the spot and started relief operation as the house was also partially damaged due to blast.

Later, the critically injured persons were referred to the Taxila hospital for burns injuries treatment
