LAHORE: Reut-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that Shawwal moon has not sighting across Pakistan, rejecting all reports regarding evidences of crescent sighting.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman expressed severe anger over the reports circulating in local media pertaining moon sighting to declare Eid-ul-Fitr day whether it will be on Wednesday (tomorrow) or Thursday.
However, he made announcement that Shawwal moon was not sighted across Pakistan and suddenly left the press conference room in severe anger, saying that every person is acting like chairman of the committee which spread controversies among Muslims.
Earlier, local media reports said that eight evidences were received for Shawal moon sighting to central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee.
Two of the evidences received from Lahore. While other evidences are received from Lower Dir and other parts of Pakistan, local media reported.
However, final announcement is due so far by the Reut-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman after collecting the evidences.
