ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) counsel Naeem Bukhari on Monday pleaded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to summon Speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. Bukhari also pleaded the five-member bench to declare the Imran Khan disqualification reference as null and void as the Speaker NA was eligible to hear the case.

During the hearing, ECP asked Talal Chaudhry’s lawyer Akram Sheikh to complete his arguments till tomorrow regarding the hearing of this reference.

The PTI counsel said that Ayaz Sadiq was biased in the issue as he had not mentioned the violation of any article in his reference. Bokhari also challenged the criteria of ECP’s hearing and said Bani Gala property is a personal matter of husband-wife.

Meanwhile, Akram Sheikh requested ECP bench to hear again disqualification reference against Jehangir Tareen. He added that decision should not be made by only hearing both sides, it should be taken through evidences after framing the issues.

Later, ECP adjourned the reference hearing till December 27 (tomorrow).

It is noteworthy to mention here that the disqualification reference was filed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry and six other MNAs seeking disqualification of Imran Khan as Member of the National Assembly (MNA) under Clause (2) of Article 63 of the Constitution.
