LAHORE: Jamaat e Islami Spokesman and MMA candidate from NA 135 in the city, Amirul Azeem, has called upon the Election Commission to seek an oath from all the candidates for strict compliance of the code of ethics to prevent the hijacking of the elections through the ill gotten wealth of the candidates.

Speaking at an Eid milan party hosted at the Ulema Academy, he also urged the voters to learn from their past experience and reject those who had been behaving as dacoits and plundering pubic money while posing themselves as custodians of the public rights.

Amirul Azeem said that corruption to the tune of billions had been unearthed in the so called Saaf Pani project for the Punjab capital while millions in the citizens were still deprived of clean drinking water.

He said that at a time when the infighting among all the political parties had become open at the as the elections were at hand, the MMA had successfully decided its candidates in an atmosphere of complete unity and understanding and this would auger well in the elections.
