Federal Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Sunday said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should review its code of conduct as the institution should not restrict Sirajul Haq and Imran Khan to hold rallies.

Khawaja Saad Rafique was talking to an occasion organised for rival political workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) joining ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). He said that ECP must skip implementation of such regulations which could be easily violated.

He expressed surprise over barricading political parties to contact its voters. He added that citizens usually attended rallies and public meetings to see faces of leaders but always voted the leaders who made efforts and provided relief to them.

Rafique said that Karachiites always casted votes to those stood shoulder by shoulder with them. He criticised Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer saying ‘congratulations to Sirajul Haq over coalition with a liberal party but he should clarify his ideological base.’
