LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq has said that the Election Commission of Pakistan should bring electoral reforms to make upcoming general election free and fair.
Sirajul Haq demanded ECP to take action against the corrupt elements within the department. While taking about the Judicial Commission report, he said that it was not a matter of victory or defeat.
He expressed his concerns over procedure of local bodies elections in Punjab. He said that people were deprived of their right to cast votes. He continued that the new procedure would open doors of rigging. He demanded the Punjab government to take back its decision.
JI Ameer demanded the provincial government to take measures towards free and fair election. He said that new electoral reforms should be introduced with the consensus of all political parties.
Sirajul Haq said that flaws in electoral system should be removed immediately.
