PESHAWAR: Election Commission of Pakistan has ordered re-polling in more than 26 polling stations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Returning Officers (ROs) after the perusal of complaints received from different areas of KPK.
Around 300 complaints were received by the ECP alone from Peshawar district – relating to rigging, firing and breach of electoral code of conduct.
The senior leadership of Jamat-e-Islami had also called in a meeting to discuss the progress of local bodies polls.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has also acknowledged the concerns of JI and has said that the elections would be conducted again in the constituencies proving rigging.
