ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday ordered deployment of Army and Rangers due to security concerns in Punjab by-polls.
‘Army and Rangers will be deployed in different national and provincial constituencies of Punjab as by-elections are going to be held in the constituencies of NA-154, NA-144, NA-122 and PP-147 including PP-Attock on Oct 6,’ said ECP.
ECP said the decision was taken on request of provincial election commission, ROs and DROs and letters had been sent to the defence secretary in this regard.
