ISLAMABAD: The election commission of Pakistan has issued a schedule for the conduct of delimitation of 81 local government (LG) constituencies in Sindh’s eight districts.
The scheduled is given as per the order of the Sindh High Court passed on November 17.
The ECP said the Sindh government might complete demarcation of urban and rural areas and issue the notification within three days by November 26 in respect of the affected councils in the light of the court order.
On the basis of demarcation, the delimitation officers of the concerned districts shall complete the delimitation process within three days, starting from November 27. Then, the delimitation officers will publish the preliminary list of constituencies on November 29.
Representation and objections against the list of constituencies will be filed before the delimitation authorities for three days from November 29 and the authorities will dispose the appeals within two days, by December 3, and the delimitation officers will incorporate the decisions and public them the same day.
The provincial election commission will send a report of compliance of the court order to the ECP. Polling was postponed in the 81 constituencies of eight districts for conducting delimitation afresh.
