Faisal Vawda moves SC challenging lifetime disqualification

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Senator Faisal Vawda over dual nationality on Wednesday.

Faisal Vawda has violated the Article 62 1-F.  The ECP ordered to withdraw the notification of Vawda’s membership of the Senate. It also directed the PTI leader to return salary and incentives he received as MNA.

Faisal Vawda resigned from the membership of the national assembly the next day by casting a vote in the senate election to hide the crime, the verdict said.

The chief election commissioner has announced a brief decision, saying that Faisal Vawda had submitted a false statement to the returning officer.
