ECP control room established for LG election in Sindh, Punjab

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday established control room to monitoring activities of second phase of local government election in Sindh and Punjab.

The control room will keep tight eye over polling matters under supervision of additional secretary Fida Muhammad. Election complaints can be registered on provided numbers including 051-9202167 and 051-9204238.

Moreover, the electoral results will be sent to control rooms through emails by the local polling staff.

ECP will organise polling for second phase of local government (LG) election on Thursday (tomorrow) in 26 districts of Punjab and Sindh. Polling will be held in 12 districts of Punjab including Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Attock, Jhelum, Mianwali, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sheikhupura and Khanewal.

In Sindh, polling will be held in 14 districts including Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Dadu, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Naushahro Feroze, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkar while election in Sanghar was postponed due to security reasons. Moreover, over 20 million voters will exercise their right of franchise in the two provinces during the latest phase of LG polls.
