KARACHI: Sindh Interior Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal has suspended senior police officials over publication of an advertisement against Rangers personnel and directed investigation into the matter, a local TV reported on Wednesday.
The advertisement by Sindh police was published in local newspapers on Tuesday seeking public assistance in tracing of six missing persons allegedly picked up by ‘unknown Rangers’ from Orangi Town.
This created tension between the two law enforcement departments, prompting the Sindh government to take notice of the situation.
Officials said the interior minister has suspended DSP Orangi Town Fakhr-ul-Islam over the advertisement which had carried photograph of the six ‘missing persons’ and sought public support for their recovery.
Moreover, the minister has set up an investigation committee under DIG CTD Sanaullah Abbassi to probe into the matter and report within three days.
