Detainment of the Sindh’s petroleum adviser Dr. Asim Hussain has been challenged in the Sindh High Court (SHC) here on Friday, sources said.
Wife of Dr. Asim Hussain submitted a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) to challenge his arrest that stated that detainment of former petroelum minister Dr. Asim was a unconstitutional move, besides ‘illegal’ custody of deputy director Ziauddin Hospital, Yousuf Sattar.
Following the petition, the SHC summoned all parties including the Centre, Sindh government and Rangers on September 15, 2015.
It should be mentioned that Dr. Asim Hussain is currently present under 90-day custody of Rangers post approval by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) over charges of terror-financing and corruption.
He was arrested during a joint raid of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at his office situated in Clifton area of Karachi on August 26, 2015.
