Dr Asim caused Rs450b loss to national kitty: NAB inquiry report

312

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed an inquiry report in an accountability court against Dr Asim Hussain charging him of causing Rs450 billion to national kitty through corruption, money laundering, illegal allotment of land and grabbing of commission.

The judge inquired from NAB why a reference has not been filed against Dr Hussain despite lapse of so much time following his arrest.

The investigation officer said that the NAB should be given three days time for filing a supplementary reference.

The Counsel for Dr Hussain said that there was no justification to keep his client in custody if the reference was not filed.

However, the AC judge accepted the NAB plea and sent Dr Asim to jail on NAB remand till March 5, seeking a copy of the reference in the next hearing.
