District level JI heads elected

LAHORE: Jamaat e Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq will announce the names of the newly elected district heads of the JI from the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkwha (KP) during a ceremony to be held at Mansoora on October 08 (tomorrow).

JI spokesman Ameerul Azeem said in a statement that the elections at the district level had been completed. He said that ballot paper for these elections had been sent to the JI Arakan (members) last month and had been received back.

Ameerul Azeem, said that the JI was the only religio-political party in the country whose cadres from Union Council up to the highest level were filled by elected people.

He said that distinct position of these elections was that nobody could offer himself for any office and the members elected their cadres by free will. He said that a JI Member could hold office of the district Ameer only for two terms.
