ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting relating to budget proposals of the Ministry of National Food Security with regard to the budget 2015-16.
The Minister was briefed in detail by Secretary National Food Security Seerat Asghar about matters which needed due focus of the government.
He said the proposals put forth by the Ministry were all aimed at ensuring food security to the people at large and measures through which agriculture produce could be enhanced.
The Minister said the government during the last two budgets had accorded due consideration to the agriculture sector as it deemed development of agriculture sector a key to overall economic progress.
He said the government would give due importance to this sector in the next budget also.
