KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has said that a horrific war could be erupted if the dispute of Kashmir is not resolved.

He expressed these views on Sunday while addressing a two day workshop for the aspiring candidates of JI’s membership.

 On the occasion, he said that the JI has been pursuing the cause of Kashmir and stressing the need to resolve the issue since long. He warned the Indian government not to escalate the tensions. He said that despite all the differences, entire nation in on the same page as far as the defense of borders is concerned.

He was of the view that the Indian government dared to claim surgical strike because the governments in past allowed the United States to do so in the name of drone strikes and operations like Abbottabad.

He further said that the Indian government has been showing her muscles with the support of the United States.

Liaqat Baloch strictly criticized the global community and United Nations for their hypocrisy and dual standards.

The global powers intervene immediately when ever crises emerged pertaining to any other religious group other than Muslims, he said citing the example of East Tamoor and added that they let the blood of Muslims shed in abundance.

He urged the international conscience and asked them to resolve the issue of Kashmir as per the aspirations of local population.

The JI leader further said that Pakistan has all sorts of natural resources but the nation has been facing poverty, law and order situation and tax culture.

He was of the view that corruption, favoritism and open violation of merit are the main causes of prevailing unrest among masses and failures of the state institutions.

 He said that continuous intervention of civil and military establishment have been pushing the democracy towards further deterioration.

He said that sidelining the Constitution, the ideology of Pakistan as well as the undue amendments in the Constitution are the core reasons of prevailing crises of Pakistan.

Liaqat Baloch further said that the civilization, culture and norms of the society have become at the verge of collapse.

He also stressed the need of unity among pro-Islamic parties and religious mindset in the society. He urged the JI party workers to raised their character as per the guidelines of Islam and become a role model for the society.
