Decision to prosecute PTI chief in military court will be in accordance with law: Law Minister

Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar says that the decision to prosecute Imran Khan in a military court will be made according to the law.

Talking to the media in London, Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar said that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) will collect evidence and then implement its recommendations.

He said that in the meeting with Nawaz Sharif, legal issues related to him were discussed, a game was played to remove the elected Prime Minister and bring a person.

Azam Nazir Tarar also said that the decision to prosecute Imran Khan in a military court will be made according to the law.

He further said that the road map given by Nawaz Sharif regarding his return will be followed and the election campaign will be led by Nawaz Sharif.

It should be noted that an application has been filed in the Peshawar High Court against the trial of the cases of the accused involved in the May 9 incidents in the military court.

In the petition filed in the Peshawar High Court, the federal and provincial governments, Secretary Home, IG Police and IG Jails have been made parties.

It has been stated in the petition that trying the cases of civilians in military courts is not only a violation of basic human rights but also a violation of international laws.
