Decision about ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ taken in PM House, says Nawaz Sharif

ANKARA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that the decision to conduct ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ was taken in Prime Minister House a few days ago.
Talking to the media in Ankara, he said that the decision to deploy Rangers in Punjab was also taken in the Prime Minister House. “The government is not scared of terrorism and we are firmly committed to acting against it”, he said.
The Prime Minister said that they started the fight against terrorism and extremism after proper deliberation, adding that they will only breathe sigh of relief after finishing terrorism.
“We do not want Afghan soil to be used against Pakistan but unfortunately it is being used”, the PM said. He said that they have submitted proofs to Afghan government.
Nawaz Sharif said that they have broken the back of terrorists, adding that they will control the recent wave of terrorism in the country as well. “These elements could not digest the progress of Pakistan. Unemployment was decreasing while many development projects were also underway”, he added.
He said that many major development projects were completed during the one-and-half-year period.
The statement of the Prime Minister came a day after Pakistan Army launched a nationwide military operation ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad’, which would include broad-spectrum security and counter-terrorism operations in Punjab, and continuation of ongoing operations across the country.
The Prime Minister also expressed deep grief over the loss of precious lives in a blast in Defence area of Lahore and directed the Punjab government to provide full assistance and medical aid to the injured.
He ordered to speed up operation against militants and also sought a report on the incident.
He also prayed for peace of the departed souls and recovery of the injured besides expressing sympathies with the bereaved families.
He also directed the authorities to ensure proper medical treatment to the wounded people. INP
