Death toll of Lahore factory incident climbs to 49

LAHORE: At least six more dead bodies have been recovered on Saturday from rubbles of Lahore Sunder Industrial Estate building after which the death toll has reached 49.

A young man, Shahid, 19, was rescued alive after 50 hours from the rubbles on Friday, who was later shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.

The factory used to manufacture polythene shopping bags and many labourers used to reside in the factory. Construction work was being carried out on fourth floor when the building collapsed.
