Deadlock on ToRs exposes govt’s inattention to accountability: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq said that deadlock on Terms of References (ToRs) for commission to probe the Panama leaks, despite holding eight meetings, exposed that the government and some other elements were not interested in accountability.

While addressing to Juma prayer at Jama Masjid Mansoora, Sirajul Haq said the corrupt elements were trying to make the Judicial Commission issue controversial so as to get rid of the accountability. They knew that they will have to go through accountability, if the accountability applied on Prime Minister Nawaz Shari, he added.

The JI leader said nation had united on ruthless and indiscriminate accountability of the corrupts. He said no one could flee from accountability.

Haq said National Accountability Bureau Chairman should be appointed with the consultation of Chief Justice of Pakistan and all High Courts Chief Justices instead of Prime Minister and Opposition Leader.

Sirajul Haq said Pakistan and Islam compulsory for each other. Peace and prosperity cannot be immerging without Islam in Pakistan, he added. Haq said all religious parties should be united for the implementation of Islam in the country.

He said the sanctity of Ramazan should not be violated on the name of Ramazan transmission. The country was going through a chaos and anarchy Haq said and added the whole nation was suffering due to the incompetent rulers.

The JI leader urged the nation to ask for pardon to the Almighty Allah and fulfill the promise for what the country came into being.

He said Pakistan came into being on the name of Islam and its survival and peace laid in the Islamic system. The JI leader said elimination of corruption was essential to transform the country into safe and prosperous state.

He stressed upon the need of reforms in judicial system and said that judiciary should restore its confidence among the people by its verdicts based on merit.
