KARACHI: The Deputy Commissioner of Karachi East, Asif Jan Siddiqui, has directed the officials concerned to take appropriate steps for the removal of encroachments from the state land in the area.
He, along with Administrator of the District Municipal Corporation (DMC) Karachi East, Rehmanullah Shaikh, on Friday undertook a detailed visit to the Gulistan-i-Jauhar Block 1.
A statement of the DMC East said that they took notice of encroachments on greenbelts around the Continental Bakery.
The DC East directed that encroachments from the state land should be removed. He instructed that notices should be issued to the shopkeepers and encroachers for the initiation of drive against the encroachments.
The DC and Administrator along with members of the Jauhar Hill Road Association visited the inner lanes in Block 1 and also visited the place where there was loss of lives owing to land sliding a few months ago.
