Dar for facilitating export-oriented sectors to promote external trade

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Saturday stressed the need for making best possible resource management country and provision of maximum facilities to the export oriented sectors to enhance trade from the country.  

He was talking to Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Ashraf Mehmood Wathra, who called on the minister here.

The finance minister also shared with him the details of his recent visit of Paris to join the Open Government Partnership (OGP).

The OGP is an international platform committed towards making governments more open, accountable and responsive to citizens. It was launched in 2011 and 70 countries have so far joined this partnership.

The SBP governor discussed recent measures taken by the central bank on the crackdown against illegal money exchangers as directed by the finance minister before he left for Paris.

He also informed the minister about the latest foreign exchange reserve situation of the country.

He briefed the minister on the current forex reserve position and the measures adopted by thr SBP to facilitate the export oriented sectors.
