KARACHI: A dangerous Crystal Meth, commonly known as Ice Drug, has landed in Karachi’s drug market, making city’s youth addict.
The drug is considered as one of the most dangerous narcotics in the world.
Karachi Police on Monday busted a gang involved in selling Ice drug through social media in the city.
The accused told investigators that youth including boys and girls were their clients.
“About 8 grams of Ice drugs cost Rs10,000, ” one of the accused further told police. He added that college and university going students were their main customers, who placed orders for the drug through social media including facebook.
The drug has found major attraction in Karachi’s Defence, Nazimabad and Gulistan-e-Johar neighbourhoods.
Drug safety experts said that Crystal meth (Ice drug) is referred to crystal methamphetamine, which is inhaled through nose, smoked and injected with a needle by addicts.
The drug onced used creates a false sense of happiness, confidence, hyper activeness and energy for six to eight hours among the addicts .
After using the drug, the user losses appetite.
