KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr. Haifz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the dances and music in educational institutes are violation of Islamic teachings as well as the constitution of Pakistan.
In a statement on Monday, the JI leader criticized Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah in connection with his statements regarding dance in educational institutes and said that the top provincial minister may act according to his views in his own home but the country and the province would be running as per the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
He said that instead of fixing deteriorating situation of educational institutes across the province, the Chief Minister has been pressing to hold music and dance concerts in schools. He further said that the Chief Minister needs to take notice of bogus recruitment in education department.
Engr. Naeem said that the provincial education minister and the Chief Minister have no time to restore education in the government run schools, nor they have time to fix the issue of towering fees in private schools.
He said that Murad Ali Shah should have respect the constitution, being bestowed by the founder of his party Zulfiqar Ali Shah. He added that the constitution ensures that no law can be made against the spirit of Islam and Islamic teachings.
JI will never remain silent in such a situation as the success in hereafter and supremacy of Islam in the concern of entire country, he said.
The JI leader added that Murad Ali Shah needs to realize that each and every individual would have to depart one day from this materialistic world. He added that though the CM’s tenure was limited but the steps taken during the period would have long lasting impacts and Shah will be answerable for his deeds on the Day of Judgment.
He said that the JI has written a letter in this regard to the Chief Minister.
He also demanded of the judiciary to take notice of the situation. He added that a comprehensive strategy would be devise in this regard after consultation with religious and religio-political parties as well as religious clerics.
