Cyclone Kyarr: Seawater enters houses in several coastal villages in Karachi

Current system in Arabian Sea may turn into coastal cyclone, warns NDMA

KARACHI: Several coastal localities and villages of Karachi have inundated as the cyclone ‘Kyarr’ intensified in the Arabian Sea on Monday.

Lath Basti, Rehri Goth, Rehman Para and other villages and coastal areas in Karachi submerged due to tidal surge.

Witnesses said that seawater had entered houses in these areas. The DHA Golf Club located in Phase-VIII is also submerged by seawater.

The residents of the affected areas have urged the government to provide them assistance.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), no Pakistani coastal area is under threat from the cyclone ‘Kyarr’.
