Curfew, restrictions to prevent march to Jamia Masjid

ISLAMABAD: The puppet authorities, in occupied Kashmir, have imposed curfew and other restrictions in all major towns to prevent people from conducting a march towards Jamia Masjid in Srinagar today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Call for the march has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to break military siege of the Jamia Masjid. Indian forces have laid the siege of the grand mosque for the last 15 consecutive Fridays, disallowing people to offer Friday prayers.

The occupation authorities have deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength all across the Kashmir Valley to stop people from conducting the march and staging demonstrations against the Indian occupation, civilian killings and other brutalities by Indian forces in the Kashmir Valley.

On the other hand, the occupation authorities continue to put Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Aasiya Andrabi, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Bilal Siddiqui, Zafar Akbar Butt, Bashir Ahmed Butt, Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Hubbi, Muhammad Ayaz Akbar, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and Fehmida Sofi under house arrest or in police custody to prevent them from leading the march. The authorities shifted Muhammad Yasin Malik back to jail after remaining admitted at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar for six days.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown continues on 112th successive day, today, to protest against the civilian killings and other atrocities by Indian police and troops in the Valley.
