Curfew in Srinagar after Hurriyat calls for massive strike

SRINAGAR: Situation turned grim in Kashmir on Monday after Hurriyat called for massive strike in Indian Occupied Kashmir, along with various other parts of the state.

Locals are aggrieved by the death of two youth, including a woman by police forces in Pulwama.

Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three Kashmiris including a woman in Pulwama.

One youth identified as Aadil Wagay, who was a resident of Bandipore, was shot dead by the troops during a siege and search operation in Kakpur village of the district.

The killing led to forceful anti-India demonstrations and clashes between protesters and Indian police in Pulwama and adjoining areas. Two civilians including a woman were killed and many were injured when police resorted to firing and teargas shells on the protesters.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (G), Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyet leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Zafar Akbar Butt, Firdous Ahmad Shah and Peoples Freedom League in their statements and addresses denounced the killings and use of force on protesters in Pulwama.
