CRI Faisalabad to be shifted to Multan soon

MULTAN: Cotton Research Institute (CRI) Faisalabad is being shifted to Multan with an aim to carry out research process regarding climate of cotton zone.

This was stated by Secretary Agriculture Punjab Muhammad Mehmood while inspecting different varieties of cotton crop at Cotton Research Station (CRS) Multan.

He directed the DG (Research) to prepared low heighted varieties with the ability to get mature within shortest span of time. These varieties should have capacity to resist against diseases as well as sudden climate changes, he said.

He said that seed regulatory authority was being established to offer recommended seeds to farmers.

Earlier, the secretary agriculture inspected floriculture research sub-station and De-Hydration Plant. He also directed officials to present report regarding digital survey of Rose flower cultivation.

VC Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Dr Asif, DG Research Dr Abid Mehmood, Director Information Muhammad Rafique Akhtar, Director Cotton Research Station Multan Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Assistant Director Naveed Ahmed Kohloon were also present.
