ISLAMABAD: Planning Minister Asad Umar has said that the number of coronavirus patients in critical condition were increasing in the country.
The head of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) further said that the bed occupancy rate in hospitals was rapidly increasing due to the fast spread of the coronavirus in the country.
The federal minister chaired a NCOC meeting, which was attended by the chief secretaries, here on Sunday.
It has been decided to take more strict measures to implement the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs), he added.
Umar said that all the chief secretaries had been directed to take steps to implement the SOPs. He requested to the citizens to extend cooperation to their local administrations.
The federal minister said that the SOPs were being tightened for the safety of the citizens.
