ISLAMABAD: A court has rejected the exemption plea of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case on Saturday.

The judge also issued non-bailable arrest warrants of the former military ruler.

The court had reserved its decision on Musharraf’s request for permanent exemption from appearing in the Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case hearing.

Pervez Musharraf was being represented at the court by Malik Tahir advocate while Tariq Asad advocate was representing Lal Masjid.

The three-day standoff in July 2007 at the mosque in Islamabad claimed scores of lives including the students and security personnel. The cleric’s brother Abdul Rasheed Ghazi was among those killed in the operation.
