An anti-terrorism court (ATC) rejected plea for exemption from attendance by former president Pervez Musharraf in Judges’ detention case over submission of fake medical report. The court directed authorities to produce the accused in next hearing.
ATC conducted hearing of Judges’ detention case on Friday (today) where the Judge Sohail Ikram issued directives to arrest Pervez Musharraf.
Musharraf’s lawyer submitted plea for his exemption from attendance along with new medical report which was revealed as fake. The court expressed outrage over the report and rejected the medical reasons submitted to seek exemption from court.
In his remarks, Judge Sohail Ikram said Musharraf was departed to foreign country in March than why he applied for exemption in April? He added the accused person was not appeared in the court since last 1.5 years.
The court also maintained orders of Musharraf’s non-bailable arrest warrants and adjourned the hearing till May 20 – 2016.
