ISLAMABAD: Accountability court on Monday extended the physical remand of director Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shafqat Cheema for another 10 days in the case pertaining for making assets way in excess of income.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had produced Shafqat Cheema in the court after the completion of 12-day remand. Counsel of the accused argued that his client has been cooperating in investigations for nine months but the accued was not given the chance for plea bargain as prescribed under the NAB ordinance. He also argued that though his client is not guilty, he compelled to plea bargain.
Extending accused’s physical remand for another 10 days the court handed Shafqat Cheema in NAB custody.
