MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Kashmir High Court has disqualified Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Tanvir Ilyas here on Tuesday.
Azad Kashmir High Court has convicted Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas for contempt of court.
The court sentenced the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir till the dismissal of the court and disqualified him from holding any public office.
The court wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner to elect a new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
For the first time in the history of Azad Kashmir, a prime minister has been disqualified for contempt of court.
Azad Kashmir Supreme Court and High Court today summoned Tanveer Ilyas for adopting a threatening tone in his speeches.
He appeared in the Azad Kashmir High Court today, the hearing against him was conducted by a full bench headed by Chief Justice High Court Sadaqat Hussain Raja.
Tanveer Ilyas appeared in the Azad Kashmir High Court and apologized unconditionally for his threatening statements against the judiciary. During the hearing, clips of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir’s speeches were played and Tanveer Ilyas was made to confess to contempt of court.
Tanveer Ilyas said that if any of my words hurt the judge, I apologize unconditionally.
After appearing in the Azad Kashmir High Court, Tanveer Ilyas also reached the Supreme Court.
The full bench of the Supreme Court will hear under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Justice Saeed Akram, the bench includes Justice Khawaja Naseem and Justice Raza Ali Khan.
