A Turkish bride and groom decided to share their wedding day with homeless people.
The selfless bride and groom chose to celebrate their wedding by inviting 4,000 refugees of Syria, to share their big day with them.
Fethullah Uzumcuoglu and Esra Polat got married in Kilis Turkey. They offered all the food from their wedding party to displaced families living in poverty in the vicinity.
Traditional weddings last between Tuesday and Thursday, culminating in a grand banquet on the final night.
The bride and groom decided to spend all the money that they saved for their wedding on food for refugees living along the border.
The idea came from the generous father of the groom, Ali Uzumcuoglu.
He came up with this idea and shared it with his son. “I am very happy that he accepted and began his new life with such a selfless act,” Ali said.
“I was shocked when Fethullah first told me about the idea, but afterwards, I was won over by it. It was such a wonderful experience,” the bride said.
“I am happy that we had the opportunity to share our wedding meal with the people who are in real need,” the bride added.
