Conducive environment has to be created for peaceful Asia: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said Pakistan want to seek SAARC as successful organization, the region is facing multiple challenges.

Addressing the SAARC Foreign Minister Conference here in Islamabad, the federal minister said the region is facing crimes like money laundering and human trafficking that necessitates a joint strategy.

The foreign ministers of SAARC countries have made meaningful efforts to eliminate crimes from the region, he added.

It is expected that all the SAARC countries will keep working towards eradication of drugs and for peace in the region, Nisar said. Pakistan wants to see SAARC a successful organization, he added.

SAARC is expected to forge ahead like this so as to restore peace in the region, Nisar said.

He also reiterated determination that works to implement the suggestions made at the Conference will start at the earliest.
