Computer networking problem at Philly Airport leads to ground stop for departing flights

PHILADELPHIA, US: Flight schedule, especially of American Airlines is affected at the Philadelphia International Airport due to computer network problems since 4 a.m.

According to our correspondent in the US, some passengers have complaint over phone that they have been waiting in a long queue to board since early morning.

The Philadelphia International Airport in a message posted on Twitter said that only American Airlines has been facing delays due to computer network problem. According to the message, no other airline at the airport is affected.

In another tweet, the airport authorities said that the FAA has issued a ground stop for flights of American Airlines departing Philadelphia.

In a statement, the airline said that the system did not come back online at 4 a.m after a planned overnight internet shutdown. The American Airlines, in the statement, added that they were working to fix the networking issue as soon as possible. It said that the passengers are being checked in manually.
