Complete strike in Shopian and Tral

Complete strike is being observed on the third consecutive day, Saturday, in Shopian district of Indian occupied Kashmir against the killing of three youth by Indian troops.

According to Kashmir Media Service, all shops, business establishments and government and private offices are closed in the district while transport is off the road.

The troops had killed the youth, Sameer Ahmed Wani and Firdous Ahmed Lone during a violent cordon and search operation in Chaigund area of Shopian district on Wednesday. Another youth, Shakir Ahmed Mir, was killed when the troops opened fire on demonstrations in the area.

People from adjoining areas continue to visit the residences of the martyred youth and express sympathy and solidarity with their families.

The puppet authorities have deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the killing of the youth. The authorities also continue to suspend mobile internet services in Shopian and Pulwama on the fourth consecutive day, today.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown is also being observed in Tral town Pulwama district to mark the third martyrdom anniversary of a youth, Abid Khan. All shops and other business establishments are shut in the town while public transport is off the roads.

Indian troops had killed Abid Khan of Handoora area of Tral and another youth, Sheeraz Ahmed Dar, during a siege and search operation on this day in 2015.
