KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan has constituted a three-member committee to inquire into the incident of apparent self-immolation by a private university’s student.
The committee comprises Jinnah Sindh Medical University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi, Dow University’s Registrar Prof. Dr. Shaikh Nadeem Ahmed and University of Karachi’s Controller Examinations Prof. Dr. Arshad Uzma, said a handout issued here on Tuesday.
The committee will probe the reasons behind the death of Basit Jameel Siddiqui. It will also inquire into complaints about examination system and rerquired facilities at private medical institutions.
The committee will present its recommendations to the Sindh Governor within 15 days.
