KARACHI: The three plus ground floor building that collapsed Tuesday was raised between 40-50 yards plot (plot number 10/315) in violating the building laws.
According to an interim report prepared by the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) investigation team, the building that collapsed this morning was already in a poor condition due to rusty sewerage system that may had badly damaged its structure.
The investigation team was constituted by Managing Director of SBCA, Agha Masood Abbas to assess the factors leading to the unfortunate incident.
SBCA chief, consequent to the incident killing three and injuring several others persons, had directed officials of the authority to reach the site and extend all needed assistance to the city administration.
The team headed by Vice Chairman of Pakistan Engineering Council, Mukhtar Shaikh and comprising Director of Building, Askaar Dawar, Consultant Structural Engineer, Issa Babbar, Deputy Director
Ali Ghufran and other experts will present their detailed report to the SBCA chief in next 15 days time.
