COAS visits Waziristan

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has visited Waziristan and celebrated Eid-al-Fitr with the troops, ISPR said on Wednesday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) COAS performed Eid prayer their and met the troops in Shawal and Dattakhel to boost their morale and spirit of fighting on front lines of the motherland.

COAS said our nation and valiant Army have paid a huge price for eliminating terrorists and restoring peace in country. “Won’t let these sacrifices go waste,” he added.

“With FATA cleared and terrorists being chased across the country, we are determined not to allow them to return and reverse our gains,” COAS said.

COAS stated that our operations against terrorists of all hue and colour will continue, he siad.

The Military chief said as consolidation goes on and operation dividends optimised for Pak-Afghan border region.

“Pakistan won’t allow anyone to use its soil against Afghanistan and directed all commandoes, intelligence agencies and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to take concrete measures against violators,” COAS said.

“Peace and stability along Pak-Afghan border remains our priority; towards which we will commit all our efforts,” Raheel Sharif said.

Border management dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees are important enablers for lasting peace, he added. Our efforts for Peace in Afghanistan have been acknowledged, he said.

While we are committed to facilitate recon process with sincerity, commitment and resolve, we expect nonuse of Afghan territory against Pakistan, he added.
