COAS Raheel Sharif visits FC Headquarter in KP

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday visited Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The COAS informally spoke with officers and men and paid rich tributes to the valor, sacrifices and achievements of FC KPK in operation zarb-e-azb. He said, while playing a pivotal and praise worthy role in fight against terrorism, the FC is fighting hand in glove with army troops in FATA and KPK and FC troops are writing new chapters of bravery, steadfastness and sacrifices.

He said the Pakistani nation has an unshakeable trust in its armed forces, keeps them in very high esteem and acknowledges their sacrifices in the line of duty. We are proud to be custodian of this unflinching faith of our nation, and will always come up to their expectations.

The Army Chief also stressed the need to work harder for close coordination and better border management on both sides of Pak – Afghan border as a prerequisite for long term peace and stability in the region.

 During his visit the COAS was briefed by IGFC about operational preparedness of the force, progress of ongoing operations and FC’s capacity building.

COAS also reviewed new manpower and equipment induction plan to build FC’s capacity and directed to ensure merit in selection, and best training standards to remain an effective and credible institution. COAS also paid glowing tributes to the police officials and other security agencies that have courageously braved the onslaught of terror and rendered supreme sacrifices along with other security forces in the fight against terrorism.
