COAS orders relief missions for flood-hit parts of Pakistan

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has directed to commence relief missions to help out citizens trapped in flood-hit parts of Pakistan including Chitral, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

COAS issued special directives to the military troops to complete all preparations to commence relief operations for nationals suffering disasters of floods in different parts of the country, ISPR said.

ISPR also announced completion of all necessary preparations to facilitate stranded citizens in the flood-hit areas while all corps commanders are thoroughly monitoring flood situation of their areas.

Moreover, Army doctors team dispatched to Chitral while Army medical corps will also establish medical hospital to facilitate the flood victims. ISPR said that around 73 persons had been rescued so far during rescue operations conducted by two MI helicopters while 100 tons daily goods were distributed amongst the flood victims including 16 tons consumable items only in Chitral.
