RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif has offered Eid prayers with soldiers on the front line in Khyber Agency.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief was briefed on the ongoing Khyber-II operation after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers in the tribal agency bordering Afghanistan.
COAS has been carrying out an operation in the tribal belt against militants loyal to Taliban and al Qaida.
DG ISPR said on Twitter that the army chief commended soldiers in line of duty.
“With entire nation standing behind armed forces in fight against terrorism, Pakistan is bound to defeat all internal and external perpetrators of terrorism,” the army chief said, according to ISPR.
“We must focus on a whole of nation response to deny opportunities to prevent any organised activity by enemies of the state,” he said, and emphasised the need to work at all levels, on preventing terrorists from establishing bases across border and infiltrating into Pakistan.
