COAS Gen Raheel meets UK home secretary

LONDON: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has held meeting with UK’s permanent home secretary during his ongoing visit to London.

General Raheel Sharif urged UK government to play its role to stop international terror-financing and facilitating process being run by the terrorists, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) Major-General Asim Saleem Bajwa said in his latest Twitter message.

During the meeting with Mark Sedwill in London, UK government should continue efforts to stop terror-financing of the extremists on international level.

He also demanded to destroy communication system between terrorists in UK.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif addressed a seminar at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) where he said on Friday that Pakistan’s disputes with India reside in the Kashmir issue.

The Army Chief said Indian intransigence, Line of Control violations and indirect strategy versus Pakistan was negatively affecting the region. “Kashmir is an unfinished agenda. World must help in resolving Kashmir issue if they want genuine peace in the region.”

COAS said Pakistan security environment was now becoming conducive for upward economic trajectory. “Will continue towards bringing total security.”

While commenting over Afghanistan crisis, Pakistan will continue to support enduring and permanent peace in Afghanistan, he said. He warned that everyone should be aware of detractors and spoilers. COAS stressed that reconciliation was the way forward. He described Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan as ‘brotherly and blood ties’. COAS General Raheel Sharif emphasised that anti-Pakistan propaganda must end.
