ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that coalition parties can decide on elections at any time, adding that institutions should not be dragged for personal interests.
Speaking on a local TV show, the central leader of PML-N Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that these people are repeatedly begging the army to intervene. Why don’t they allow them to work within their constitutional role?
“Institutions should not be dragged for their own self-interest, there should be no talk of forming and breaking governments. There should be no talk of security with the establishment,” he said. “We criticized the Establishment for its role.”
To a question, Khawaja Asif said that we have to take one of the names sent by GHQ.
Khawaja Asif said that even during the previous government there was talk of reforms. There should be no dual citizenship, 70 per cent of Pakistanis are in the Middle East they do not have dual citizenship.
The federal minister said that there are one million Pakistanis in the United States and half a million in Europe. There are people with dual citizenship in the United States and Europe, he said.
Earlier, PML-N leader Khawaja Asif had said that the United States is the only power that can solve our problems and if it wants it can create economic problems for Pakistan.
Reacting to the speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said that Imran Khan has made a speech but we had not listened as he repeats the words so we do not have to listen again and again.
Khawaja Asif said that if America was disturbed with us then we would not get IMF loans. If the US was unhappy then we should be blacklisted in FATF.
He said that the prime minister was waving only one letter, which was being made a political issue. If this message came on March 7, then why the National Security Summit was not convened then?
The PML-N leader said that when he returned from the United States, he had said that he was happier than to win the World Cup.
He further added that the person holding the post of prime minister should take care of his sanctity. Asif said that the prime minister called the military leadership today but he should have met them earlier.
