ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali has said that Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah would extend Rangers powers today.
While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that Rangers brought peace in Karachi. He continued that Rangers controlled the law and order situation in Karachi.
Nisar said that Rangers not a political force and it stopped extortion, targeted killing, crimes in the metropolis Karachi.
He was of view that some people were making Rangers’ role controversial due to their own objectives.
Interior Minister said that Rangers were working according to their mandate in Karachi. He said that they would not deploy Rangers in Karachi without legal cover. He continued that Rangers worked over and above of their responsibilities in Karachi.
Nisar said that they would withdraw Rangers from Sindh, If Sindh government would not recommend. Interior Minister said that Metropolitan polices had completed interrogation from Moazam Ali and they had decided to give the police access to the other accused in Imran Farooq murder case.
