Closing educational institutions again will destroy academic process: minister

ISLAMABAD: Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood on Monday warned that any decision taken in hurry to close the educational institutions again would badly destroy the academic process in the country.

The minister said that earlier the decision to reopen the institutions was taken a thorough deliberation.

The seven-month suspension of academic activities had already caused a loss to the students. However, our top priority is student’s health, the education minister added.

He said that the health ministry would be consulted before taking any decision on closing the schools, colleges and universities agaain.

About 90 per cent government and private schools have no access to the online educational facilities, he added.
