CJP orders 5-year audit of Pakistan Railways

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar Saturday ordered five-year audit of Pakistan Railways.

The CJP said that if auditors wanted any further guidance, they might approach the court in the matter.

Hearing the suo motu notice case about alleged losses in the railway department, the two member bench comprising the CJP and Justice Umar Ata Bandial summoned Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, who appeared before the court.

Meanwhile, the chief justice also heard a suo motu notice regarding the murder of a journalist in Sambrial. He directed the police to arrest the main accused within 15 days. The CJP was informed that two accused had already been arrested.
